Camera Shots, Angles, and Movements

Basic Camera Angles


Over the shoulder shot or angle reverse angle shot - This is so the audience gets to see the action from the characters perspective. It also increases the engagement with the audience. 

High angle shot - Thus type of angle shot give the sense that the character is vulnerable. 

Low angle shot - This gives the character a sense of power. Can make the audience feel vulnerable towards the character. A sense of fear. 


Basic Camera Movements

Tracking shot  - This can either be a forwards or backwards shot using a track and dolly for a smooth movement in the shot. It draws the audience into the action. 

Sideways tracking or crab shot - A producer would use this shot so that you can keep up with the movement or action of the character/characters or object of significance. 

Tilt shot - The producer would use this
