Film Production

Writer: A writer or a screenwriter is a person who researches and develops story ideas, then they create screenplays for films. they provide the 'blueprint' as part of the creative input for Producer Director, Production Designer, Composer and Editor, Cast and Crew. this ensures that whoever is reading the screenplay imagines how the film work on the screen. They are under pressure because they have to create the screenplays for strict deadlines, working flat out with the script development team so that they can work on it and perfect it by the deadlines.

Producer: The producers are responsible for all aspects of the 'film production'. Thier role is to turn potential story ideas into profitable films that will be a hit. They work with the Directors and the Casting Directors so that they can get exactly what they imagine and what they think will make the film better. for example; the right actors, the right props and equipment, making sure that they are in budget. Also working with the camera operators, marketing team and the special effects department so that they get what they imagined from reading the screenplay to reality.

Casting Director: The Casting Director/s Are responsible for the actors, this means they have the job to pick the cast of the film. they do this buy conducting interviews and auditions for the role, also they negotiates the payments and the contracts to go with the role for the actor. they work with the Directors and the Producers so that they understand the requirements for the roles.

There are many roles to a Director and they are responsible for all aspects of it, such as casting, script editing, shot composition, shot selection and editing. The Director is responsible for creatively translating the film script into actual images on a screen which make more sense. They are also successful for the film's artist and commercial success or failure.

Production Designer: They define and manage every visual aspect of a film, and the Product Designer also works with the Producer and Director to produce a budget and a schedule for the film. They direct a team to help them produce the visual elements, like the sets they film on, the costumes etc...

Camera Shots

Over The Shoulder Shot - The producer uses this view is so that the audience gets a view of the action in the character's perspective. This is used so that the audience feels like they are involved and it’s more engaging. This is also known as a reverse angle shot.

High Angle Shot - This shot create the illusion that there is a sense of the characters vulnerability. This type of shot can be used is scenes of confrontation in action movies, for example when people are going to be killed by something or someone.

Low Angle Shot -  The producer uses this shot, because it creates the sense that the character has power. Also the audience will feel a sense of vulnerability towards the character because of the low angle shot.

Back Camera Shots

Extreme Long Shots or Established Shots - The shots are mainly exterior shots which indicates to the audience that time and location. Also this provides the audience with the setting so they can get into the the movie and the background information on the movie.

Long Shot - The producer uses this angle mainly for, head to toe shots of the character so that the audience gets a whole look at the character. This is also so that you can get a feel for the environment and how the charger is talked and how they fit into the scene/movie.

Mid Shot or Medium Shot - The producer uses this camera angle so that the audience becomes more familiar with the character. Also you begin to see the more of their facial expression and their body language.

Two shot - The producer uses this angle so that you have a comfortable angles of two people. this is mainly used when presenters on a TV show are talking. It can also be used in interview to show the conversation.

Close Up -  This angle is used by the producer because it shows the emotion at that time so you get a feel of what the character is feeling. This can also be used to frame an object of significance as well.

Point of View Shot - This shot is used by the user to give the audience a view from the characters perspective. So this can also be tie into a Over the Shoulder Shot, Low and High Angle Shot as well, as if the character was looking up or down. It also gives the effect of engaging the audience into the scene.

Extreme Close Up - The producer uses this shot to show intense emotion of the character, so that the audience actually understands what the situation is good or bad. This can also be used to frame an object of significance.

Camera Shot Analysis

In this video, the video producer MKBHD had used many camera shots to present his work. he uses tracking forwards, tracking backwards, mid shot (of the watch), quite a few close ups and long shots. these are hard to analysis because it is an object, but when he does the tracking shots this is maybe used to draw the audience attention into the object being shown. so that you are able to see the whole object of significance. He also used a long shot, this gives a very similar effect as a the tracking shot so that the audience get to see all the of object significance. Finally he used close up shots this lets the audience see all the details of the object of significance.

My Own Representation

What group do I belong to? Well, I think that I fit into the Urban 'Tribe', because I think that I fit in with the group because they are known for their choice of music. Their music taste consist of: RnB, Hip Hop, grime, UK bass and funky to old school jungle and rap (soul). My music taste consist of mainly RnB and Hip Hop like: Beyoncé, Kanye West, Kid Ink, Pusha T, Chris Brown, Kevin Gates, Future, and Drake. Without music I wouldn't be able to do work or concentrate on my work because it drives me to do things and helps me with my work flow. These are a few examples but there are many more. But I like the artists older music more, but I still like their new contemporary work. I love listening to music and love the music that reflects my life.

I also like to listen new and fresh music from new artist, and the best way to do this is Radio 1 Xtra because they value and respect new artist making their way into the music business. I think that is so refreshing to hear new music which are so different from the rest and what we know and love today.I like to listen to music for what it is, ‘how the artist intended it to sound’. I am I a stickler for good audio. So most people think the best audio comes from Beats. But artists know and DJ’s know that mainly the best audio experiences comes from other companies that not many people know of. For me personally the best music experience there is, comes from Audio Technica (coming from actually owning a pair of beats before).

I don’t think that I have just one unique style, in terms of the way I dress, but I mix and match things obviously to my liking. I like some ‘mainstream’ brands but not all. For example Nike, Adidas Originals, River Island, Outfit. But I like to mix and match with many different things. But I cannot deny my love for T-shirts… I love them and every chance I get I buy them because there are so many different varieties and I wear them all year round.
